The Basics_
At Lessi.ai, I worked closely with the two co-founders to establish a design system and interface for their innovative educational tool. Lessi.ai empowers teachers to create, modify, and differentiate learning capsules that are specifically tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. The platform was designed to make learning more personalized and effective by allowing educators to craft educational content suited to each student’s unique learning style.
Research_
To inform the design of Lessi.ai, I conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis of other AI tools in the educational space. I explored the interfaces of various AI-powered educational tools and platforms such as Google Classroom, as well as other teacher-facing tools, to understand common patterns and identify opportunities for improvement. This research helped ensure that the Lessi interface was both intuitive and competitive in its user experience, drawing from the best practices in the industry while considering the unique needs of educators.
Design System Establishment_
For the design system, I built upon Google’s Material Design principles to establish a cohesive and flexible set of components. This system included Material Design’s naming conventions, color schemes, and standardized UI components, ensuring a clean, modern aesthetic while maintaining consistency across all parts of the platform. By aligning with Material Design, I was able to create an intuitive experience that felt both familiar and innovative for users, offering scalability as the product evolved.
Interface Design_
The interface design for Lessi.ai focused on simplicity and ease of use.
I aimed to create a user experience where educators could quickly dive into the platform and get started without unnecessary barriers. To achieve this, I made the primary user flow the central interaction on the landing page, ensuring a clear, streamlined entry point. This approach mirrors the simplicity found in other AI tools, helping to enhance user engagement and encourage immediate use.
